About us at The Homestead Campground

Thank you for your interest in our campground. We pride ourselves in being a small family, friendly campground!  If spending quality time with your family, while enjoying nature is what you are looking for, then we are the campground for you!  We are in a country setting surrounded by farms.

We are a "Campground" not a Camping Resort, RV Park nor a Franchise!

We are nestled along the lower part of the Saco River, directly off Route 5 North out of Saco. As you will see when you arrive; we are well worth the drive off of Route 1.

Your hosts, Chris and Ruth King along with help from Laurie. Will do their best to make your stay a restful and relaxing experience.  Someone is always available to address any questions or concerns that you may have.

We offer spacious sites (so we've been told), clean restrooms and showers coin operated (25 cents for 5 mins) and coin laundry.

We have some wonderful farm stands in the area that sell a wide variety of produce (the corn is the best), farm fresh eggs and milk. For a special treat Gonneville's Ice Cream is just 3 minutes away (yummy)!

As we are a Campground and not a "Camping Resort", "RV Park" nor a "Franchise"

We do not offer any planned activities, but we do offer plenty of alternatives for having fun!  For the little ones we have a extensive play area and offer a safe space for bike riding. We also have a 1/2 court basketball court, outdoor table tennis (someones always looking for a game), horseshoe pits.  For fun on the water we have a swimming/picnic area, fishing (small mouth bass, rainbow trout, brook trout, pickeral, cat fish, sunfish and eels). Canoes are also available for rent. Floating down the river on a tube is also a fun way to enjoy the day.

We are NOT a party campground! we love to see people having fun and enjoying themselves.   Quiet time is 10:30pm. Be mindful of others around you!

Our centeral location in Southern Maine makes us a short drive to many of Maine's points of interest; beaches OOB 10 mins away,  Camp Ellis and Pine Point for Striper Fishing. Amusement parks, deep sea fishing, ocean excursions, shopping and dining to name a few. We suggest that you visit the Saco/Biddeford Chamber of Commerece for a complete list of what the area has to offer including any festivals that may be going on. We are happy to share our favorites with you as well as help you with directions.

"We can get you theah from heah"
